Announcing CLC 2008: The End is Here!

December 27th, 2007

In recent years, lots of attention, especially among evangelical Christians, has been placed on the end of the world. Why? Well, anxieties about world events have made the issue quite popular. In fact, the last days are so popular that evangelical interest has created an enormous market for fiction booksellers, clothing retailers, and movie producers.

In this craze, most evangelicals have learned to think of the last days as something that happens in the future just before everything wraps up. In other words, it is the time right before the very end of the world. Therefore, many occupy themselves with reading “signs” and interpreting events in order to prognosticate about when Jesus will return. Despite the fact that Jesus says we will not know the day or the hour of His return, such speculation becomes the entire focus of the matter.

So, what are we to do with what the Bible says about the last days? Are we to just to keep guessing, a Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other, trying to bring the two together?

But, what if the last days does not refer to the time just before the end? What if it refers to something else? What if it refers to something that began in the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ? This could change everything, and just maybe, the last days will become something very important for our everyday Christian life.

Please join us and our speakers, Richard Pratt & John Wood as we explore the last days and unfold the relevance of the end for right now.
